Am 8. Juni 2008 fand die grosse Eröffnungsveranstaltung in Himos statt.

Mit einem tollen Rahmenprogramm und viel Prominenz wurde die Fertigstellung des NATURE.FITNESS.PARKS® für Nordic Walking gefeiert.

20 sehr gut ausgebildete Nordic Walking Trainer stehen den Einheimischen und den Gästen zur Verfügung.

Auf 4 sehr gut ausgeschilderten Nordic Walking Strecken kann jetzt die wunderschöne Landschaft rund um Himos und Jämsä erkundet werden.

Für Gäste gibt es mehrere Tausend Betten in Hotels und Ferienhäusern, hier findet jeder sein passendes Angebot.

Ferienlandschaften in der Region Jämsä

Im Sommer erwartet Sie in der Region Jämsä blaugrüne Natur. Genießen Sie die blauen Seenrücken des Päijänne Sees, klares Wasser und herrliche Sandstrände an zahlreichen kleineren Seen und reine, grüne Wälder.

Im Winter kommen Sie in schönste Schneelandschaften. Die Reise von den größten Städten Finnlands in die Region Jämsä ist nicht lang, dank bester Verkehrsverbindungen bleibt mehr Zeit für Ihren Urlaub.

Vielseitiges Fremdenverkehrsangebot i Himos/Jämsä

Himos wächst und wird vielseitiger. Neben Winteraktivitäten und -veranstaltungen entsteht ein Fremdenverkehrsziel, das ganzjährig Erlebnistourismus anbietet. Ab dem nächsten Sommer wird Himos vom Päijänne-See aus mit dem Boot zu erreichen sein, das Theater Himos bringt das Paradies in den Ort und in der HimosAreena treten schon jetzt die bekanntesten finnischen Künstler auf.

Das umfangreiche Fremdenverkehrsangebot der Region Jämsä bietet sowohl Dienstreisenden als auch Urlaubern unterschiedlichste Möglichkeiten der Erholung. Die Natur ist überall nah. Besonders empfehlen können wir den Nationalpark Isojärvi. Wer gern paddelt, ist auf der Wasserroute Wanha Witonen richtig. Angler zieht es an die Stromschnelle Koskenpää oder den Jämsä-Fluss, der auch ein guter Ausgangspunkt für eine Kreuzfahrt auf dem Päijänne-See ist.

Kunst ist zum Beispiel während der Valkama-Kunstwochen, in den Austellungsräumen Kivipankki, Riihigalleria und Taidetalo Pöllölä sowie auf der Veranstaltung "Kuhmoinen ruft" zu sehen. Jämsä ist auch als "Filztal" bekannt. Hier befinden sich die einzigen Fabriken Europas, die Filzpantoffeln herstellen. Einblicke in die Vergangenheit gewähren auch die Museen der Region Jämsä. Besonderheiten sind das Flugzeugmuseum Hallinportti und das Waffen-und Militärmuseum.

Himos Holiday cottages have lot of space, exellent sauna facilities and high equipped kitchen. For accommodation you can choose one of the 225 cottages, of which over 80 are high class accommodation build for the summer cottage exhibition year 2000.
In all cottages included: refridgerator, electric cooker, micro-oven, dining set, basic kitchen utensils, tv, open fireplace, sauna, shower, toilet, cold and hot running water, electric heating.

Additionally to downhill skiing and snowboarding, Himos offers an interesting range of winter activities. With snowskooters or allterrain vehicles, with crosscountry skiing or with snowshoes you can enjoy the snowy winter landscape.

You will find the fishermen in the wintertime, ice fishing by the Himos Hotel on the lake Patalahti or net-fishing on the Lake Päijänne.

If you would like to take a swim in the icy waters you could go ice swimming from the famous Himos Smokesauna. For those who prefer warmer winter swimming we offer ice swimming in flouting suits. Winter riverswim in Jämsä River or Lake Patalahti by the Himos Hotel is the new adventure that is available. Put the floatingsuit on and just jump into the icy water - an unforgettable experience!

When the sprigtime comes the snowmobiles are switched to the "sandmobiles", all-terrain vehicles. You will find even more excitement when facing the challenges of the rope tracks at 10 meteers of height. For younger adventurers we offer their own rope track in the trollforest. The greens of the Himos Golf are opened in May and the golf courses begin early in the season.

The summer weekprogramme includes hiking and fishing tours, evening programmes by the lake with campfires. We arrange rowing trips and games for the children in the trollforest. Bathing in the smokesauna with the possibly of refreshing swim on the lake are naturally also on the programme. All of our programmes are guided by our frendly and experienced guides.

As the sun rises the Trollforest wakes up and invites you to experience the adventure of the mystic world of the trolls. Himos 9-hole golf course is interesting for the beginners as well as for more active golf players.

The hiking and orienteering routes in Himos surroundings lead you to the paths that allow you to enjoy the nature of Central Finland.

The Himos Rock Festival takes place in midsummer and in August the Neste Rally Finland offers the rally people speed and exitement in The Himos Special Stage with the Himos Vip-village.

The beautiful autumn colours dye the hiking paths in the nature with bright red and yellow for Himos visitors. The woods in North-Himos are rich in berries and mushrooms.
